This very rare colour offset vintage lithograph by David Hockney is hand signed in graphite and inscribed HC (Hors Commerce) of which there were just 10. Outside of the edition of 100.
It's one of a series of art prints created by 15 artists to focus on Amnesty International's Prisoners of Conscience Year 1977. Hockney decided to highlight the plight of the Lawyers imprisoned in South Africa for representing those fighting against apartheid. These works were exhibited between February and March of 1977 in the Washington Place windows of New York University's Grey Art Gallery.
This print is not to be confused with the unsigned poster edition of 2000, or the edition of 100.
The work is conservation framed.
