The Hockney Gallery at MODO
The Hockney Gallery at MODO is Cambridge's dedicated space for discovering David Hockney. We're more than a commercial gallery: we champion education, welcome first-time and Gen-Z collectors, and build connections across schools, families, and the creative industries. In partnership with Art and Culture Education CIC (Ace CIC), we make the arts accessible, rigorous, and future-facing.
"MODO exists to open the door to art-confidently, generously, and for everyone."
- Sally Clark, Director & Curator, MODO
Why Hockney. Why Cambridge.
David Hockney's spirit of innovation-experimenting across drawing, print, photography, stage design, and digital-mirrors MODO's own values of progress and transformation. Our Cambridge base lets us serve a city of ideas with exhibitions, talks and resources that invite newcomers and specialists alike.
What's On
Explore current and upcoming presentations of Hockney's work, from intimate displays to themed shows placing Hockney in dialogue with contemporary practice.
Learning & Community (with Ace CIC)
Alongside Ace CIC, we design practical, bias-busting routes into the arts:
- School & sixth-form engagement (talks, visits, resources)
- Parent/teacher guides that explain pathways into creative futures
- Tools that demystify collecting and careers in the arts
- Opportunities for galleries, educators, and young people to connect locally
Collecting with Confidence
Whether you're taking a first step or deepening a collection, our team offers clear guidance-pricing transparency, condition, framing, and conservation-so decisions feel informed, not intimidating. Welcome. We've been expecting you.
